EPA Publishes Proposed SNURs for Chemical Substances, Batch 21-3.5e

On June 24, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed significant new use rules (SNURs) (Batch “21-3.5e”) for chemical substances that were the subject of premanufacture notices (PMNs) and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Orders. This action would require persons who intend to manufacture (which includes import) or process these chemical substances for an activity that is designated as a significant new use by this rule to notify EPA at least 90 days before commencing that activity. New Jersey to Amend Rules for Architectural Coatings and Consumer Products

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has notified stakeholders that it intends to propose amendments to its architectural coatings (AIM) and consumer products rules in the coming months. The agency’s amendments will seek to align the state’s AIM rule with the Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) Phase II Model Rule and its consumer products rule with the OTC Phase III and IV Model Rules.
