May 23 | ACA Member Webinar: Making ‘Zero VOC’ Claims: A Legal Perspective

This free webinar will review the history of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) regulation of products that make ‘Zero VOC’ claims, including agency enforcement actions against different industries. The webinar will also review the latest FTC guidance on making Zero VOC claims, and some of the challenges of implementing it. Participants will gain a better understanding of the available guidance, legal requirements, and risks associated with making such claims.

June 7 | ACA Webinar: Review of Maine and Oregon EPR Packaging Laws

This free webinar will address recent laws enacted in Maine and Oregon that require producers to manage the end-of-life of any packaging. While these state laws differ in the details, they include the common denominators of extended producer responsibility (EPR). Producers introducing product into commerce in these states must register or become a member of a “producer responsibility organization” (PRO).

This webinar will provide attendees the following insight:

  • Background on how the state laws were passed;
  • Differences between the two laws;
  • Potential impacts on producers (including paint producers);
  • A preview of the regulatory phase/functionality of the PRO in each state; and
  • Prospects for further EPR legislation.

June 23 | Bringing New Chemical Products to Market

This free webinar will provide an overview of EPA’s New Chemical Review process under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and possible changes and challenges for manufacturers of chemical products. EPA has stated that it will renew focus on its New Chemical Review program under the current Administration. EPA intends to propose related procedural rules in the Fall while implementing several policy changes. This webinar will address changes to EPA’s New Chemical Review (PMN) process implemented in 2016 due to changes to the Lautenberg Act, in anticipation of EPA’s proposal. The webinar will provide a solid foundation for management and staff unfamiliar with the TSCA New Chemical Review process and bringing new chemical products to market.
