Nouryon, a global specialty chemicals leader, announced that it will invest in its Ningbo, China, facility to increase the capacity of two organic peroxide products.

With this investment, Nouryon hopes to double its annual production capacity to 6,000 tons each for their Perkadox® 14 and Trigonox® 101 organic peroxides by mid-2024.

The company says that these products could support growing regional and global demand for a variety of applications. Both Perkadox® 14 and Trigonox® 101 organic peroxides can be used to enhance the properties of recycled polypropylene. According to Nouryon, this enables customers to use recycled plastics in applications previously only accessible to virgin plastics.

“Asia Pacific is a key region for Nouryon, and China plays an important role in our growth journey towards increased customer satisfaction and volumes. Our customers rely on our existing network of manufacturing facilities and innovative technologies, and we are pleased to build more capacity to meet growing customer demand,” said Johan Landfors, executive vice president, Strategy and Technology Solutions, Nouryon.

“The customer interest in improving the properties of recycled polypropylene continues to rise, in line with increased consumer awareness. This capacity expansion reflects our commitment to serve the entire polymer cycle,” said Alain Rynwalt, senior vice president, Polymer Specialties, Nouryon.
