BASF inaugurated the expansion of its Innovation Campus Shanghai, China, consisting of two new research and development (R&D) buildings.

The Innovation Campus Shanghai, which opened in 2012, is BASF’s largest R&D site in Asia. It completed two expansions in 2015 and 2019.

The expansion includes two R&D buildings, where new facilities and laboratories will be used to advance chemical research projects, including creating new sustainable solutions, per the company. Those laboratories include a process engineering lab, digital lab, labs for metal surface cleaning and industrial cleaning processes, a performance materials lab and the Creator’s Lab, which is a model-making workshop.
