Over the past several years, transmission of organisms on surfaces has become a point of focus. This webinar will review the use of UV-cure, “shark skin bio-mimicking” antimicrobial surfaces for autonomous vehicles (AV). These surfaces are naturally antimicrobial and a preferable alternative for their minimized environmental impact.
The number of AVs is expected to grow dramatically in the next five years, as ride-hailing options replace traditional taxi and Uber-style services. Future ride-hailing AVs are expected to have rapid “turn around” after individual use that should result in a microbial-free “touch surfaces.” The webinar will also address how coatings with anti-biofouling properties may be used for medical implants and in hospitals.
