Job Description

The American Coatings Association (ACA), a national trade association representing manufacturers of paints and coatings, seeks an individual to serve as Assistant Director of Science, Sustainability and Environment. Key responsibilities would include sustainability, environmental management, product labeling, occupational health and safety, and managing the association’s science and technology program.

Candidate should preferably have a master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, chemical engineering, materials science or chemistry and 5 years’ in industry, trade association, government and/or related experience. Requires experience with advocacy on local, state or federal level, including comment development, and testifying before agencies or legislative bodies. Experience in sustainability, environmental management, product stewardship, product labeling, health and safety, as well as managing research projects, and developing technical conferences is strongly preferred.

Ability to travel required.
