ACA Science & Technology Committee Initiatives
The ACA Science and Technology Committee finalized the third third technology roadmap on “Durability and Water-resistance of Waterborne Systems” and released this on the website in February 2024. The Research and Development Management subcommittee plans to hold a workshop with the University of Minnesota’s I-PRIME Consortium in May 2024 to discuss and showcase research being done that addresses gaps identified in the second technology roadmap “Lightweighting and Novel Substrates.” ACA released its “Explore Coatings” web hub as part of its efforts to raise the profile of the coatings industry, and this hub offers ways to connect with the target audience via an online job board and profiles universities with programs in coatings science. Additionally, a two-minute video is showcased on this site as a way to promote coatings careers among STEM college students. Finally, the conference program for the 2024 Coatings Show has been finalized.
