Kansai Helios Coatings GmbH, part of Kansai Paint, announced plans to expand its North American operations by establishing a new manufacturing facility in Johnstown, Ohio. The company owns CWS Powder Coatings in Blauvelt, New York, and Weilburger North America in Tucker, Georgia.
The overall investment will be more than $20 million and create more than 40 new jobs by 2030, according to the company. Additionally, employees will receive specialized education and training opportunities at Kansai Helios production facilities in Germany.
According to Bastian Krauss, executive vice president and executive director of the Kansai Helios Group, “our investment in the Columbus Region represents a major step forward in our growth strategy,” Krauss says. “With this strategic move, we are quadrupling our production capacity. Additionally, enhanced infrastructure and access to a talented workforce will enable our new facility to serve customers more flexibly and efficiently. Moreover, this expansion underscores our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence in industrial coatings.”
