Evonik’s Coating & Adhesive Resins business line is now using green electricity for its polybutadiene production in Marl, Germany. This initiative is part of Evonik’s sustainability strategy, aimed at achieving environmental goals it set for 2030, which include a 25% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from 2021 to 2030.
“We are excited to help our customers make their products more sustainable on the path to Net Zero,” said Saskia Jaworski, Sustainability Business Manager for POLYVEST®, Evonik’s range of liquid polybutadienes. “For us, a reduced CO2 footprint is a true added value for the product.”
Evonik says this initiative builds on its broader commitment to green electricity. Beginning in 2025, the company will activate several power purchase agreements to further its dedication to sustainable energy sourcing.
