Vink Chemicals has begun construction of a new production facility in Schwerin, Germany. With the construction of the chemical plant, the company will produce a significant portion of its required raw materials in Germany in the future.
According to the company, the new plant will shorten transport routes and supply chains, such as to the company headquarters in Kakenstorf, Lower Saxony. The proximity to the port of Hamburg also means that the sea route, which is important for the company, can be accessed quickly.
More than 30 million euros are to be invested in the new plant.
Vink entered an agreement earlier this year with DKSH’s Business Unit Performance Materials to have DKSH provide business development, marketing, sales, logistics, and distribution services for Vink Chemicals’ range of biocides. Biocides are used as preservative solutions in paint and coatings.
