Kelly-Moore Paint Company, Inc. was recognized last month by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for the company’s efforts in pollution prevention at TCEQ’s Environmental Trade Fair and Conference at the Austin Convention Center.

The culminating event honored Governor’s Texas Environmental Excellence Awards (TEEA) winners at a banquet the evening of May 11. Kelly-Moore was recognized for its pollution-prevention program, Wash Water Reduction to Landfill, which was “to install equipment to reduce wastewater generation by using a water treatment system that would segregate latex solids from the water through pH adjustment, flocculation, and filtration.”

The annual awards program recognizes the achievements in environmental preservation and protection. Since 1993, the program has honored more than 250 successful environmental projects and activities. TCEQ says through the TEEA it hopes to encourage others to initiate like-minded projects and reinforce a spirit of environmental stewardship.
