The Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials of North Dakota University (NDSU) will offer its 2017 Coatings Short Course from June 4–9. The course will be held on NDSU campus in Fargo, ND.

The course is designed for participants with varying levels of experience in the industry. For those new to the paint and coatings world, the course will offer a comprehensive discussion of basic principles. Experienced practitioners will benefit from the broad perspective and presentation of more fundamentals of coatings science. Laboratory demonstrations will illustrate concepts from the lectures. The course is taught by experts from the industry as well as NDSU’s professors.

Topics to be covered include polymers used in coatings, epoxy resins, polyurethanes, solvents/solvent evaporation, pigments and dispersion, corrosion protection, film formation, rheology, and additives.
