The 34th Western Coatings Symposium & Show (WCS) will once again attract the coatings industry to Las Vegas, NV. To be held October 20–23, 2019 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Convention Centre, the popular event features a three-day technical program, two-day tabletop exhibition, student participation, and numerous networking and socializing opportunities.

The objective of the biennial WCS is to provide attendees with a greater knowledge of the newest technical trends and advancements in coatings formulating, as well as an expanded network of key technical contacts in the industry.

Event Highlights

The WCS will kick off with a golf tournament, hosted by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, on Sunday, October 20 at 8:00 am. Proceeds of the event will go towards the Western Coatings Technology Center at Cal Poly SLO to support students. On Sunday night, all symposium attendees, exhibitors, and speakers are invited to attend the lavish welcome reception at Drai’s Beachclub/Nightclub, sponsored by BASF and Azelis Americas.

Technical Program & Trade Show

Beginning on Monday morning, the technical symposium will feature over 100 presentations, offered in five concurrent tracks. Through keynote presentations and panel discussions from leaders of the coatings and chemical industries, insights into the most challenging issues will be shared. Student posters and presentations from a number of universities will also be a highlight of the program.

The WCS trade show will begin on Monday morning and run through Tuesday evening. The products and services of over 100 leading suppliers to the industry will be on display. As with past WCS programs, the trade show hours and technical presentation hours will not overlap, so all attendees and exhibitors can participate fully in both.

Hotel Accommodations

For the event, hotel rates have been negotiated at both the Paris Hotel and Bally’s. Indoor passageways from both hotels lead to the Paris Conference Centre where the WCS is being held.
