Beckers Group opened an R&D Center in Shanghai’s Songjiang district, marking a significant investment in technical capabilities to serve the Chinese coatings market.

The 20-person facility houses research teams for both coil coating and industrial coating applications, with dedicated space for customer collaboration and development of Radcure Technology—an ultraviolet curing system that reduces carbon emissions in coil coating production.

According to the company, the R&D center will focus on three priorities: developing innovative coating solutions for local applications, providing direct technical support to customers, and advancing sustainable technologies including low-carbon formulations and UV-curing systems.

“The proof of innovation is sales. China is an important growth market for Beckers Group, and R&D plays a key role in helping us bring innovative and differentiated product solutions and capabilities to our customers,” said Gavin Bown, CTO at Beckers Group. “The new Beckers China R&D Center is both symbolic of and a key driver of that ambition.”
