Ultra-Low Reflectance Black Pigment

Ishihara Sangyo Kaisa, Ltd. has launched LUSHADE® BLACK, an ultra-low reflectance structural black pigment. The surface structure of the bismuth sulfide pigment resembles sea urchin spines, enabling the pigment to absorb more than 99.0% of visible light and resulting in an ultra-black pigment with extremely low reflectance. When used in coatings, it also helps suppress surface temperature rise. The pigment is designed for use for optical lens edges; low-reflectance coatings inside camera modules; infrared-reflective black coatings; infrared-based devices, such as LiDAR, and for reducing surface temperature rise.
