After successful launches in Europe and Asia, BASF’s ReSource, Glasurit® Eco Balance and R-M® eSense brands for the automotive refinish coatings market will now be introduced in North America this year. The company says these products further contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and circular economy.
“With the upcoming expansion of our offering for North America, we are further strengthening our commitment to sustainability,” explained Dr. Markus Piepenbrink, head of Sustainability at BASF Coatings. “We want to create double-added value for our customers by providing high-performance and sustainable solutions and also actively supporting our customers in the transformation to a sustainable coatings industry.”
Dennis Dropmann, sustainability manager at BASF Coatings emphasized, “We are replacing part of the fossil resources with renewable raw materials, which makes an important contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In 2024, our more than 250 biomass-balanced products saved around 8 million kilograms of CO2 emissions, and we are aiming for the 10 million mark in 2025.”
