Nouryon has announced that its nine manufacturing sites in Brazil are now powered with electricity solely from renewable energy sources, which it says will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to a low-carbon economy. The company has 60 manufacturing sites around the world including nine in Brazil, which represent 25% of the company’s total electricity usage.

“Nouryon’s dedication to sustainability extends beyond our products and processes; it encompasses our entire manufacturing network,” said Eduardo Nardinelli, senior vice president, South America and Global Carbon Business Leader at Nouryon. “These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to reducing our environmental impact while enhancing our customers’ ability to achieve their sustainability goals.”

As part of its long-term carbon management strategy, the company says it is continuing to explore opportunities to transition other sites in its manufacturing network to electricity from renewable sources.
