Grinding and Dispersing Nanoparticles

January 2004

By Henry W. Way

Over the past few years we have observed an increase in the desire to use bead mills for grinding and dispersion of “nanoscale” particles. The objective of this paper is a general discussion of how this process works in a bead mill, the parameters required to successfully produce these nanoscale dispersions, and some experience in grinding or particle size reduction of solids to the nanoscale have observed an increase in the desire to use bead mills for grinding and dispersion of “nanoscale” particles.
