Steel Corrosion Protection
Hempel A/S has introduced Avantguard 750 Pro, a zinc-rich, high-solids primer for steel corrosion protection. According to the company, Avantguard 750 Pro provides corrosion resistance and is intended for structures requiring protection for more than 35 years. The company maintains that the coatings’ durability may contribute to lower CO₂ emissions over the lifetime of steel assets.
Suitable for new construction, repairs, and maintenance, Avantguard 750 Pro has low-VOC content and cures at temperatures as low as -10°C.

Texture Additive for Powder Coatings
Micro Powders, Inc. will feature MicroTex® 950, a texture additive for powder coatings, at the 2025 European Coatings Show. As the newest addition to its PTFE replacement portfolio, this texture additive is formulated to support compliance and performance in powder coatings. It provides fine texturing and may contribute to single-digit gloss reduction, similar to PTFE texturizers.
According to the company, early field testing has shown positive results in formulations including polyester/TGIC, polyester/HAA, and polyester/epoxy.

Decorative Flake Systems
APF Polymer Surfaces has launched the Terrazzo Polymer Flake line as part of its Decorative Systems portfolio. According to the company, this is the second line in the portfolio, following Granitex, and is formulated for use in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
Made with polymer resins, the line includes a mix of flake sizes in 19 color blends. With the addition of Terrazzo, APF provides two decorative flake systems, available in 1-day, 2-day, and high-build system options.

Dispersions for Floor Care
Barentz has launched ECO-SHIELD™ NF100, a dispersion for use in the floor care market. According to the company, ECO-SHIELD™ NF100 serves as a PFAS-free alternative to wetting aids in floor finish products and is intended to support leveling and film formation on low-surface-energy and contaminated substrates.
The Barentz Technical Team developed the dispersion over three years; it has undergone laboratory and market testing.

Bio-Based Acrylic Binders
Arkema has introduced bio-based acrylic binders for textile printing and finishing applications. The new ENCOR® bio-based waterborne dispersions contain up to 30% bio-based content and, according to the company, may reduce carbon footprint by up to 40% compared to traditional textile resins.
According to the company, these binders are intended for use in performance textiles as the industry seeks to lower environmental impact.
