The following industry professionals have recently received appointments or promotions.

IGM Resins, based in Waalwijk, Netherlands, has announced the appointment of Boudewijn Morelissen as CEO. Morelissen succeeds Wilfrid Gambade, who served as CEO since 2021 and will become an advisor to the board of directors of IGM Resins.

Prior to joining IGM, Morelissen was employed by DLG, a conglomerate based in Denmark, serving as the CEO of Vilofoss. He has also held roles at Cargill, DSM, and Owens Corning. He earned his master’s in business from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) has announced the appointment of Jennifer Colunga as chief financial officer (CFO). The organization says Colunga will have oversight of AMPP’s financial management, including audit, treasury, tax, insurance, operations planning and analysis, corporate controllership, and business finance and analytics.

Colunga previously served as controller at Pioneer Contract Services, Inc.; in 2021, she served as the vice president of finance and accounting at Gridiron, LLC. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in Texas.

Holcim Building Envelope has named Lauren Pagano senior vice president of the adhesives, coatings, and sealants (ACS) business unit. In this role, Pagano will lead the business unit, overseeing strategy, marketing, sales, operations and technology, supply chain, customer service, and planning.

Pagano most recently served as global business director at Trinseo. Prior to Trinseo, she previously held executive roles at Worthington Industries, HB Fuller, and James Hardie Building Products.

Micro Powders, Inc. has appointed John McAllister as vice president of sales for both the industrial and personal care divisions. The company says McAllister will lead the sales organization and develop strategies to achieve fiscal targets along with expansion into new markets.

Prior to joining Micro Powders, McAllister worked in chemical distribution for Dar-Tech, Inc., where he was a technical sales representative responsible for account management and new sales development for the coatings, graphic arts, and adhesives industries.

BASF has appointed Shelly King as the new site director of its Chattanooga sites. King has more than 20 years of experience, having worked with major manufacturers such as Ticona, Invista and DuPont. Throughout her career, King has held multiple leadership positions, most recently as director of Central Infrastructure at Wacker. BASF says King’s experience and expertise will guide the company’s sites toward additional growth and increased community engagement.

King succeeds Robert “Rob” Gagliano, who retired in October 2023 after a nearly 30-year career at BASF. Gagliano began his career with BASF in 1987, working as a design engineer, plant engineer, and operations manager before taking over as site director in 2009.

Evonik has appointed Max Preisenberger as head of the catalysts business line. Preisenberger takes over from Sanjeev Taneja, who has retired.

Preisenberger’s career at Evonik began in 2000. During his time with the company, he has held positions in marketing, controlling and R&D, and applied technology. In his new role, Preisenberger will oversee Evonik’s catalysts and adsorbents business line and be responsible for driving strategy and business development.

Preisenberger holds a doctorate in chemistry from the Technical University of Munich.

MHM Holding GmbH’s recently announced a reorganization of management. CEO Heiner Klokkers has left the company. Taner Bicer, who is responsible for the group’s chemicals division, and Carsten Zölzer, head of the offset division, are joining the management board. Both will also remain managing directors of hubergroup Deutschland GmbH and retain their current responsibilities. Both Bicer and Zölzer will form the management board of MHM Holding GmbH with Britta Hübner, chief transformation officer.

PPG has announced that Irene Tasi, currently senior vice president and chief growth officer (CGO), will become senior vice president, industrial coatings. In addition, Alisha Bellezza, currently vice president, automotive coatings, will become senior vice president, automotive coatings. Both appointments are effective March 1.

Tasi was named CGO and a member of the company’s operating committee in late 2021. Bellezza was appointed to her current role last year and has served on the company’s operating committee since joining the company.

In other PPG news, Stephen F. Angel is retiring from the company’s board of directors, effective at the conclusion of the board’s February meeting. Angel has served on PPG’s board of directors for more than 13 years, including chairing the human capital management and compensation committee and the sustainability and innovation committee. He also served as a contributing member of the nominating and governance committee.

Marcel Krohnen has returned to BYK as the head of its global paint additives business. Krohnen took over from Stefan Mößmer, who has now moved to the BYK management board.

Krohnen joined BYK in 2007. In 2015, he moved to the position of global head of wood and furniture coatings, and later, in 2019, he served in dual functions when he assumed an additional role as head of the architectural coatings business.
