Producer Price Index

The Producer Price Index (PPI) is a Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) program that measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their outputs. The PPI tracks on a monthly basis commercial transaction prices for many products and some services (as opposed to retail prices, which are tracked by BLS’s well-known Consumer Price Index).
