Reduced Carbon Footprint Variants
BASF Intermediates Division has introduced new product variants with a reduced product carbon footprint (rPCF) for butanediol (BDO), tetrahydrofuran (THF), polytetrahydrofuran (PolyTHF®), and N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP). BASF states that the reduced product carbon footprint is achieved through low emission feedstocks and utilities produced at its Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The company says that the rPCF variants offer a lower carbon footprint of at least 10% compared to the corresponding standard products manufactured at the site.

Low-Temperature Cure Powder Coating
WEG has launched a new powder coating with low-temperature curing technology, developed for use in industrial applications with heat-sensitive materials such as plastics, composites, and other special substrates. WEG says the technology allows curing at temperatures lower than those conventionally used, 110-140 °C and 160-200 °C, respectively. The company says that the reduction of the curing temperature contributes directly to the energy efficiency of the production processes, potentially reducing energy consumption in industrial coating lines.
