Market Update: Resins

Higher raw material and energy costs, increasing environmental regulations, and a demand for improved performance from customers are challenges facing suppliers of resins for the coatings market. The industry will also continue to experience consolidation and globalization. Overall growth will remain at a very moderate rate for several years to come. Resins for solvent-free coatings (waterborne, powder, UV) and higher performing resins such as polyurethanes offer the greatest potential for the future.
