ACA Member Webinar: Universal Waste Rules for Paints

Oil-based paints that are disposed or burned for energy recovery are generally subject to full regulation as ignitable hazardous wastes. However, the Universal Waste (“UW”) Rule provides an avenue for substantially reducing the applicable requirements for widely generated hazardous wastes, including paint wastes.

During this free webinar, Aaron Goldberg, a Principal with the law firm Beveridge & Diamond, will provide background on the UW Rule as it currently applies to other wastes, such as batteries, light bulbs, and aerosol cans. He will also discuss the state UW Rules that already apply to paints, as well as the recent petition submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency by ACA and PaintCare to classify paint wastes as UW at the federal level.
