Henkel has opened its sixth dry mixes plant in Russia. According to Henkel, the plant will enable the company to meet the growing customer demand for construction mixes in the Northwestern Federal District. The total investment in the project amounts to more than 10 million euros.
The plant is located in the company’s existing production cluster in Tosno near Saint Petersburg, and will reportedly produce more than 25 products under the leading Ceresit brand. “Russia is one of our global key markets for almost 30 years now, where we are supplying high-impact adhesive solutions for various industries,” said Mark Dorn, corporate senior vice president Craftsmen, Construction and Professional for the Adhesive Technologies business unit. “The new facility with a capacity of more than 80 thousand tons per year will enable us to expand our portfolio of innovative construction solutions in the region while creating new local job opportunities.”
The company stated that the plant is built in accordance with Henkel’s highest sustainability standards and that it is equipped with technologies to ensure an efficient use of natural resources and to limit the impact of its operations on the environment. These solutions include filter elements installed in the production area as well as automatic equipment control programs allowing to reduce energy consumption, according to Henkel.
