Axalta, a global coatings company, announced that its Tlalnepantla, Mexico, manufacturing facility recently celebrated 70 years in the global coatings industry. The plant opened in 1952 and initially focused on manufacturing automotive refinish products.

The Tlalnepantla facility manufactures the company’s Cromax® Gen, a basecoat technology, for customers in Latin America, the United States and Canada, and exports products to North America, Central America, Asia-Pacific and South America.

Axalta says Tlalnepantla site has expanded to include a training center and the largest Axalta distribution center in Mexico. It is one of three Axalta manufacturing facilities in Mexico, and the company has 47 manufacturing plants globally.
