Anticipation Grows as Coatings Industry Plans for American Coatings Show 2020

Once again the international coatings community is making plans to come together for the major event of the industry. The American Coatings Show and Conference 2020 will be held at the Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN, from March 31 to April 2.

American Coatings Show

For the ACS 2020, suppliers are reserving their booth space at a record pace. The show provides an unparalleled opportunity for exhibitors to display their state-of-the-art products and services before an international audience. In addition to demonstrating a wide range of the latest coating raw materials, laboratory and testing equipment, and production technology, the show will feature pavilions for Powder Coatings, as well as Adhesives and Sealants.

At the event held in 2018, the ACS attracted more than 9,000 attendees, surpassing all previous American Coatings Shows. Coatings professionals had the opportunity over three days to visit with the leading suppliers of the industry. A total of 558 exhibitors occupied over 137,500 square feet of exhibit space.

 American Coatings Conference

For the first time, the American Coatings Conference will be held over the same days as the ACS. Geared to the theme of “Successful Innovation in Coatings Research,” the conference seeks to showcase new and innovative research results and developments of relevance to coatings professionals.

On Monday morning, March 31, the program will feature pre-conference tutorials that will allow participants to sharpen their skills through informative sessions on topics of importance to the industry.

At the plenary session on Monday, the conference will begin with a Keynote Address that will kick off the full technical program of invited and contributed papers.

An additional highlight of the plenary session will be the presentation of the American Coatings Award, which recognizes the outstanding paper of the conference. Selected and sponsored by the American Coatings Association and Vincentz Network, it will be presented with a $2,500 cash award and attractive sculpture.

In 2018, the American Coatings Award recipients were from DuPont Industrial Biosciences. Their ground-breaking work focused on a new family of engineered polysaccharide materials with unique structural polymer properties and morphologies.

The American Coatings Conference also features a highly publicized Poster Session. This informal venue provides a casual atmosphere that is well suited for discussions about the work of student participants.

Additional Highlights

The ever-popular Fun Run will again be part of the ACS in 2020. Enthusiastic runners and walkers will gather to jump start their day, network, and participate in this fundraising effort. Proceeds from the Fun Run are used to fund student participation in future conferences. Product presentations on the show floor, networking opportunities, and the ACS Career Center will all be highlights of the upcoming event.
