Paint Council Network
For years, industry trade associations had focused most of their attention on actions being taken by America's national government in Washington,D.C. During the 1980's, however, it became evident that a significant shift of power and responsibility to the states was taking place.
NPCA's Executive Committee directed staff to strengthen the association's state affairs program in order to meet mounting challenges to the industry at the state level. It was agreed, however, that staff involvement alone would be inadequate; the membership had to become more actively involved if the program were to succeed.
The result has been the creation of an NPCA-funded network of 11 state and regional paint councils.
Paint council membership and participation is open to all NPCA members. Actions taken by each paint council are determined by its membership at regularly scheduled meetings throughout the year. Each paint council has professional staff for lobbying and association management.
Experience to date has shown that an organized, informed membership can make a significant difference in the outcome of public policy debates concerning paint industry issues. You are encouraged to get involved!
