Cleveland Coatings Society Issues Call for Papers; 2010 Program Keyed to Theme of Emerging Technologies
Abstracts for podium and poster presentations are now being accepted for the 53rd Annual Sink or Swim Symposium, to be held May 18-19, 2010, at the University of Akron, Student Union Building, Akron, Ohio.
Hosted by the Cleveland Coatings Society, the 2010 Sink or Swim Symposium will focus on a wide array of coating technologies, including "green" sustainable coatings. Paper topics may include waterborne, solventborne, powder, UV, high-solids, green, and nano coatings technology, as well as aspects of corrosion, durability, and characterization. Presentations will follow a 25-minute schedule, with five minutes for questions.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is February 15, 2010. Organizers are requesting that submissions be via email only. Topics suggested include:
- Nano coatings
- Green sustainable technologies
- Raw materials, surfactants, and additives
- Application methods and equipment
- Coating industry trends
- Pigment dispersions
- Aerospace coatings
- Improved corrosion resistance
- Architectural coatings
- Marine coatings
- Emulsion polymerization/polymers
- New polymer technologies
- Automotive OE and VR coatings
- Wood coatings
- VOC/HAPs/RoHs issues
- Analysis and characterization
- Process and manufacturing
- Color technology
All papers will be considered for this or future presentations, but organizers reserve the right to choose the papers that best fit the symposium focus. An electronic copy of the abstract and presentation, and a paper for the plenary lecturers will be required by March 1, 2010.
