Marine coating volatile organic compound (VOC) limits are regulated for large ship building by the Ship Building Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT), and for the pleasure craft industry by the Miscellaneous Metal and Plastic Parts Control Technique Guidelines (CTG). The Ship Building MACT has been applied uniformly across the United States; however, the pleasure craft rule has not.
